Guestrooms

There are four rooms in total each with a patio overlooking the gardens, the Araluen valley and in the distance the rolling hills and mountains of the Southern Tablelands. All rooms are non smoking rooms and include linen and blankets, DVD player,  tea/coffee making facilities, heating , ceiling fan, iron and ironing board, clock radio and hairdryer. We have an extensive DVD library, board games and books.

Jail cells

Stay in one of our two converted old jail cells,  in much more comfort than Her Majesty’s subjects.  Each room has a double bed, en suite and sitting room with a patio outside where you can enjoy the gardens and mountains beyond.    

The rooms were constructed with quadruple brick walls.  The original iron bars and doors with hatch are still intact.   The cells  also have doors at opposing ends of the room with one leading to the original prisoner exercise yard and   into the main courthouse where meals are served.

 

 

Family Room

Once the family room of the resident policeman, the master room has a queen size bed with two single beds in an adjoining room. Guests of the family room share an ensuite and can enjoy the scenic mountain views from their patio. We can supply a travel cot or a trundle bed for a third child in the family room.    There is a DVD player in each room so that children and adults can enjoy their own shows.

Triple Room

A comfortable room with a double  and single bed,  and ensuite.  Large glass doors  lead to  a scenic patio area with mountain views.

Breakfast

A cooked breakfast is included in our tariff and also includes cereal, fresh fruit, fresh juice, toast, tea or freshly brewed coffee which you can take in prisoner exercise yard (with original iron bars & cell doors) or back patio overlooking the garden or on the front verandah.

Lunch and dinner

The Araluen Valley Hotel is an easy 7 minute stroll ( 400 metres) from the courthouse and offers a counter lunch 7 days a week . They provide evening meals from 6pm Tuesday to Saturday. At the courthouse we offer home cooked dinners by pre-arrangement. They are served in the courtroom in front of an open fire (in colder weather ) or on the front verandah ( in warmer weather). A three course meal including tea and coffee is $50 per adult. We can also provide wholesome children’s meals around children’s individual tastes on request. Please inquire about our rates.

We have a selection of wines to choose from, and don’t charge corkage if you prefer to bring your own.

We can accommodate most Individual dietary restrictions and requests.
